Capture Conference calls and Meetings

“My dissertation looks at a Head Start program that was in existence from 1965 until 1968 in Mississippi. And I’m looking at why this particular program wasn’t funded even though it was held up as a model program for the rest of the country.  Most of the women that worked for the program are still in Mississippi.   Some are in DC, some are spread out now living in other areas but the majority of them are in Mississippi.   And so, I use Cogi to talk to them and to learn their life histories and how Head Start employment changed their lives.”

As a graduate student on a budget Cogi has proven indispensible in her work.  “It’s expensive to fly all over the country just to conduct interviews. It’s not as if I’m salaried or have someone that’s funding this research. So it’s definitely made it a lot more affordable”

One of the things Crystal discovered during her research is how the Head Start program helped strengthen families and communities.  “When we think of Head Start we think of Preschoolers, but the program in its initial years was much more than a Preschool program because there was a much larger parental component.  And so Head Start was really a community tool, in the sense that parents were expected to have a hands on participation in the program.  They were expected to teach, they were expected to volunteer, they were expected to learn what it is that their student, their children were doing every day and to try to reinforce those lessons at home.  And so that’s been interesting to me, seeing the ways in which Head Start didn’t just affect the child but affected the child’s family.”

What is an API?  An API or Application Programming Interface is an interface that a software program implements so that other software programs can interact with it.  In this case, the Cogi API enables businesses to quickly and easily integrate Cogi’s unique set of conversation capture and transcription tools into their existing enterprise software. Ernie and his team use Cogi’s ability to record and share calls to effectively manage their company’s website and infrastructure.  “My staff is in different parts of the country. Not to worry: Cogi solves this problem by showing your Caller ID number on the callee’s phone.  And what’s even better is that the more numbers you register with Cogi, the more options to choose from. Here’s how it works:

When you first register, you only have one phone number – called your “Primary Phone” that is displayed as the Caller ID number for all calls.

As you continue to use Cogi, you may enter more “Call From” numbers – like  a cell phone, home phone, work phone, or conference room phone. Here’s where you get some choices: Click  in the Settings link in your Cogi Portfolio, and select “Software Options”. Here’s the screen you’ll see:

You have two choices:

1. “Primary Phone” – this will display your Primary Phone as the Caller ID on all calls, regardless of what phone you are actually calling from.
2. “Call From Number” – this will display the Caller ID number of the phone you are actually calling from.

Be sure to click ‘Save’ once you’ve made your selection.

In a time when every business lead counts how do you ensure that your new sales representatives are performing their best?  Because the majority of his sales opportunities begin with a phone conversation Calvin wanted to be able to coach his representatives on those calls. However there was no way to be on every call his sales team made, nor did he want to make them sit there with him on a conference phone.

With the Cogi software Calvin now has all of his new agents record their sales calls. He then goes back in later, reviews those calls and highlights the sections where the presentation went well and where it could be improved making notes in Cogi next to those highlights.  With Cogi his new sales representatives can not only hear their own presentations but have specific feedback and coaching on where to improve.

To change your Time Zone settings, log into your Cogi account, click on the settings link and then select software settings. From the drop down menu choose the time zone in which you want your calls and other information displayed. Now all calls made by you will appear in the time zone you selected.

What about calls to different time zones? All time stamps for calls made from your account are shown from your perspective. Even calls that you share with others will still show your time zone.
